The stone in the shade is Ruby in Zoisite that is found exclusivly from the Longido Mine in Tanzania.The red ruby stands out against the green of the zoisite and black spots of various minerals. It is 12"overall tall with an antique lamp base that is 5 1/2" in across at the bottom. The shade at it's widest part is 8 1/2' across. The lamp has a metal tassel at the end of the chain ,leaf and dot patterns, and an inline on and off switch in the cord. I cut the rock with a diamond saw into slices , then go thru many stages of polishing before I shape the pieces and build the shade. Each one of my gemstone lamps is more than a source of light, its a one of a kind piece of art shaped by nature. No two are ever alike! When illuminated , the stone comes alive and it creates a mood that is really special !!!
